Seven Stars of the Northern Dipper
Description
From the photographer: “Big dipper is colloquially known as the “Seven Stars of the Northern Dipper” in China. In the old culture of Chinese the big dipper was not only used to find direction but also determine seasons. 4000 years ago, In the book of Master Pheasant Cap (Guanzi), wrote about how the Ancient Chinese determined seasons and the passage of time through the pointing direction of the handle of the Big Dipper. When the handle points east it’s Spring; When points south it’s Summer; When points westit’s Autumn; when points north it’s winter”
