Scope and Stars

On one incredible, clear summer night at the 2005 Nebraska Star Party (Merritt Reservoir), the photographer imaged his 12.5” f/10 Newtonian as it pointed toward the Milky Way in Cygnus, the Swan. The red lights from numerous other star party goers can be seen along the horizon at upper left. The green tendrils of what will soon be an incredible airglow display are beginning to appear around the horizon.
