Planets Parade, Eclipse, and a Flare
Description
From the photographer: “About 15 minutes after the end of totality in the longest total lunar eclipse of the century, a beautiful moment happened in the wide-angle view with the Moon and Mars, Milky Way and Saturn, as well as Jupiter and a flare from satellite FORMOSAT-2, as seen from Campinho, Dark Sky Alqueva, Portugal.”
Click the second photo for a telephoto view of the total eclipse only 6 degrees away from Mars at its brightest time in 15 years.
