Orion and Sirius Above Panauti Temple
Description
Winter stars of the northern hemisphere nights shine above delicate wooden architecture of the historic Indreshwar temple in Panauti, Nepal; one of the largest and tallest pagoda style temples in Nepal originally built in 1294, making it the oldest surviving temple in the country. Note the colorful stars of constellation Orion at the upper right and the dazzling brightness of Sirius (the brightest star in all night sky) at the lower middle. Procyon, the alpha star of small constellation Canis Minor is also visible on the left.
