Description

From the photographer: “Cottian Alps are located between France and Italy. Over the French border, Queyras national park‬ shows at best its pure nature. Covering an area of 65,000 hectares, it is home to a great deal of flora and fauna and due to the low light pollution, it is an unique area for sky observation and nightscape photography! The picture illustrates ‪Col Vieux‬. A natural terrace – 2800 meters above the sea level – where – from left to right – Crete de l’Eychassier, Lac Foreant‬ and Crete de la Taillante‬ can be admired with their peculiar shape. The warm temperature of the night, the clear sky, a lot of bright Perseids and the good company of a friend allowed me to spend another night in the Heaven!

Technical details: Nikon D750 and 24mm f/1.4 (used at f/2.8), 15sec exposure, ISO3200 and diffuser filter.”
