New Light
Description
From the photographer: “The first appearance of a young crescent moon in the evening sky was referred to as new light in many ancient cultures. It marked the beginning of a new month. Coincidentally, the new light fell on the first day of the new year 2025. A 3.5% illuminated narrow crescent appeared for the first time 42 hours after the new moon over a small village near the city of Stuttgart in southern Germany in a colorful twilight.”
