From the photographer: “Brilliant Earthshine seen on the unlit side of the moon, while the moonlight from the crescent (~9.2% waxing crescent) illuminates colors of prayer flags in the 17th century Hanle Monastery. The five colors blue, white, red, green, and yellow represent the five elements. Blue symbolizes the sky and space, white symbolizes the air and wind, red symbolizes fire, green symbolizes water, and yellow symbolizes earth.”
