Moonrise by the Lake

The moon rises over a lake in a summer night of the Austrian Alps. Windebensee (Windeben Lake) is located in the Salzburger Lungau & Kärntner Nockberge UNESCO Biosphere reserve, also known as Nockberge National Park. Look above the illuminated tree to find the Andromeda Galaxy (M31) in the sky, appears here almost the way it looks to unaided eyes in a dark night.
