Description

As seen on Astronomy Picture of the Day, annular Solar eclipse of 2012 May 20 progesses over Monument Valley, where Arizona and Utah meets. TWAN members Tunc Tezel and Wally Pacholka viewed the eclipse in ideal weather conditions from this world-known “Western” landmark. The image sequence is made with a fixed camera snapping a photo every 5 minutes. The Sun images are made with a hand held solar filter that blocks the Sun only. The foreground picture is made after the Sun disappeared behind the cliffs.
