Milky Way Rising Above Lake Doxa

From the photographer: “During the Easter holidays, I tried desperately to find a night with clear skies in order to capture the night sky. The weather forecast was quite disappointing, except the night on the 5th of May. Without thinking it twice, I packed my gear and went to Lake Doxa for an overnight camp. The weather conditions were ideal for astrophotography; clear skies and still water without any wind.

Arriving at the lake, I met a beautiful couple of musicians, Daphne and Raphael, who were spending some days in their campervan. We spent the evening talking while waiting for the milky way to rise. I decided to go with a simple and symmetrical frame including only the milky way and its reflection from the water (it was the best mirror).”
