Milky Way from Argentina

From the photographer: “This is a wide-angle view of the southern Milky Way over the hills of Azul, Argentina. I was lucky to get a nice meteor in the photo, too. The center of the photo shows the constellations of Scorpius and Sagittarius. The ‘tire tracks’ from red Antares to the Milky Way are visible as well. This effect is produced by dust between the Earth and the galaxy plane, hiding the brightness of the Milky Way stars behind. The dome of yellowish light on the right is light pollution from a nearby town.”
