Midnight Moon

Near the mid-night the last quarter moon rises over the skyline of Cologne with Germany´s famous Cologne Cathedral on the right. See a time-lapse video of the rising moon. With a height of 157m this World Heritage Cathedral is among the highest churches in the World. The building next to the Cathedral is the Cologne telecommunications tower with a height of 266 m. For a large appearance of the moon compared to those buildings Bernd Proeschold positioned himself 17 km away from the city. The photographer was very happy to find a small hill exactly on the axis behind moonrise and the city.
