Lunar Eclipse Over Erupting Volcano

From the photographer: “The evening was enchanting as we witnessed the volcanic eruption and the eclipse of the moon. The interplay of the moon’s crimson hue and the fiery red of the volcano created an unforgettable spectacle.

The secondary photo captured using different exposure times, was taken with the intention of making it appear as if the full moon was colliding with the crater of the Volcan de Fuego. It was almost sunrise, which is why we can see the light of dawn. Just as the moon appears to touch the surface of the volcano, an explosion occurs, leaving behind an impressive smoke plume.”
