Description

From the photographer: “After four full moons occurred within one season from June to September in 2024, our satellite appeared as the largest full moon of the year in October 2024. At a distance of only 357,512 km from Earth, the moon appeared in the evening with an apparent diameter of almost 33.5 minutes of arc above the small church in the village of Altefähr on the island of Rügen. Rising very shortly after sunset, the reddish twilight bathed the horizon in the east in a warm light.”
