Green Flash and Purple Flash

From the photographer: “This image portrays the sun at sunset taken from an altitude of 1890 meters. I was near the Sapienza Refuge, on Etna (Sicily) to film the sunset from that altitude. As the sun approached the horizon, it compressed and jagged at the edges. It consumed itself on the horizon showing a Mock mirage with various sequences of green flashes. The Purple Flash also appeared in one of these. It is not easy to observe and photograph a purple flash and the peculiarity of this image is that you are presented together with the Green flash.”
