Description

Starry night of Gotland, the largest island in the Baltic Sea. A meteor from Perseid meteor shower is also captured in this image. Gotland which was under water for 400 million years is made up of a sequence of sedimentary rocks. The limestone rocks with fascinating shapes on the island today are locally called Raukar and many of them are in fact very old coral reefs.
