Full Moon

From the photographer: “The full Moon rises majestically, illuminating the scene and the ancient Penna furnace at Sampieri (RG). The Moon shows the typical red/orange colouration that occurs when it is low on the horizon, as the light has to pass through a greater thickness of atmosphere and the blue component (which has a shorter wavelength) is deflected more than the red one. In addition, a penumbral lunar eclipse was in progress, which slightly reduced the brightness in the upper left part.”
