Description

This scene of autumn constellations over a 2300-meter high glacial lake on Mount Uludag of Turkey includes hundreds of stars but also two objects in our own Solar System: asteroid Vesta and planet Neptune. It’s not easy to find either of them among so many stars although Vesta was just bright enough at this time to been seen by unaided eye (in a dark sky like this). Move the slider on the image to locate the notable celestial objects and figures in this view.
