Description
Stars of constellation Orion rise above Etchmiadzin Cathedral in Armenia, one of the oldest churches in the world. Move the slider on the image to see a selected single-exposure image of this view. The Holy Etchmiadzin is a World Heritage Site and the most important cathedral to Armenians. It was first built in 301-303, when Armenia had just adopted Christianity. The church is located in the town of Vagharshapat. The bright trails on the lower right are caused by passing planes.
