Eta Aquarids Meteor Shower
Description
A photo composite of multiple exposures. The 2015 Eta Aquarids meteor shower from Atacama Desert in Chile. In this photo composite many meteors are caught in successively added exposures over one hour and digitally added to a single composite image that shows how they appeared around the shower radiant. From the photographer: “Despite very bright moon meteors were noticeable. In the foreground are the domes of 6.5-m Magellan telescopes on Las Campanas Observatory, as well as amazingly large amount of vegetation (it appeared after heavy rains in Atacama desert in March). The wind during the night was very strong (up to 35 mph, ~15 m/s) and the foreground flowers are completely blurred due to that effect. After all clouds covered all the sky and I was just lucky to capture the event in the right time.”
