A total eclipse of the Moon as captured from the Caribbean Sea near the coast of Costa Rica, on a cruising ship. The TWAN photographer was a lecturer onboard an astronomical tour by Sky&Telescope magazine. As noted by the photographer “This is not the best eclipse shot I ever made, but I was happy to capture this from a moving ship. I was surprised to clearly record the constellations of Orion, Taurus and the Pleiades with the eclipsed moon on top in this one second exposure at iso 3200 with a fast f1.4 wide angle lens.”
