The total solar eclipse of 2013 November 3 as seen from northwest Uganda. The short totality shaded the wild nature in darkness for less than 20 seconds. Click on the second photo to see a close-up telephoto view of the eclipsed Sun at this moment which shows the colorful chromosphere dotted with solar prominences. From the photographer: “This was the shortest eclipse that I have ever seen. There were some thin clouds passing in front of the Sun but the view with our eyes and through binoculars were superb.”
