Description

In a starry night of La Palma, Canary Islands, the 4.2m mirror of William Herschel Telescope is collecting starlight to explore the deep cosmos. This fish-eye view from inside the telescope dome looks over to the Milky Way in the constellation Cygnus. Vega is the bright star on the top-right. Note the startrail images on the mirror, resulted from magnified star images produced by the mirror.
