Comet and Victor Hess

Comet PanSTARRS (C/2011 L4) photographed in the evening twilight of Innsbruck, in the Austrian Alps. Lights of cable car stations reaching to ski pistes are visible on the mountain. Also to the right of the top station of the famous Nordketten cable car was the site of Victor-Francis-Hess station, where he continued to work on his discovery of the cosmic rays during the 1930s.
