Colors of Night
Colorful stars of Orion and Canis Major trail above desert landscape of central Iran in this three-hour photographic exposure. Sirius, the brightest star of the night sky is in the midddle while the red trail on the upper right is the Orion Nebula. Most surprising is the short trail of southern star Canopus (the second brightest in night sky) on the lower left of the image. From this location in northern hemisphere Canopus rise only few degrees above the southern horizon in winter nights.
