Description

Startrails over the remains of 1600-year old palace of Sasan in Sarvestan, southern Iran. The palace was used by Sasanid kings of ancient Persia during winter season. This 2-hour exposure with a classic camera using an ISO 100 slide film revealed immense amount of star colors, which is not easy to record with sensitive sensors on today off the shelf digital cameras. The bright white star rising above the dome is Sirius. Higher up the vivid red trail belongs to the Orion Nebula and the yellow-orange trail at the upper left belongs to star Betelgeuse in the Orion’s shoulder.
