Cassiopeia Constellation and Andromeda Galaxy
Description
From the photographer: “We started driving up the mountain just before sunset. Our plan was to arrive as early as possible to the peak Neraidorachi; where the Helmos Observatory is located. During the twilight, my good friend Kostas began his astrophotography workshop; that gave me the opportunity to have and extra element of interest in many of my images (as in this one). We had ideally weather conditions, so everyone enjoyed this unique experience without any problem. For this image, I decided to have a vertical frame in order to include in the same frame the workshop participants as well as the constellation of Cassiopeia and the Andromeda Galaxy (M31). Move the slider on image to show/hide labels and lines.”
Technical details: A single-exposure photo using a diffuser filter in front of the lens in order to make the constellation of Cassiopeia a bit more obvious
