Description

Close conjunction between two brightest planets in the night sky, Venus and Jupiter, brought a stargazer to this seaside location at the Atlantic coastline in Brittany, France. Constellation Taurus with the Pleiades star cluster also appear at the upper left. As added by the photographer “With my red headlight I illuminated the beach. At low tide, the sand is wet and highly reflecting”.
This photo was a winner of Astrophotographer of the Year 2012 competition of Royal Museums Greenwich in the People and Space category.
