Description

In this black & white image stars of the Big Dipper (the prominent asterism in constellation Ursa Major) and bright star Arcturus are captured above bizarre rock formations in the suburbs of Mahneshan (Maah-Neshaan) in Zanjan, Iran. Also note the Coma Star Cluster (easily resolved by unaided eye) right above the rocks. This place was an old mine dating back to the Second World War period.
