Belt of Orion and Historic Tower

The prominent stars of Orion’s belt and the patchy colorful cloud of Orion Nebula is captured in the background of a historic tower located in Lut Desert of south east Iran. Dasht-e Lut or lut Desert has an area of about 51,800 square kilometers and is one of the driest and hottest places on the planet. Located far from population centers it preserves stunning dark starry skies.
