Auroral Night
Description
From the photographer: “On October 10, 2024, one of the strongest auroras in the current 25th sunspot cycle occurred. With a KP index of 9-, it was a G4 storm. This meant that extremely bright auroras could also be seen in mid-latitudes and even as far south as A rare and beautiful event that gave many nature lovers and star enthusiasts a sleepless night. It was very cloudy in many places in Germany, but in the north-east on the Baltic Sea the sky cleared up noticeably. Extreme gusts of wind repeatedly drove low-lying clouds across the vast sky. A few wisps of haze created dramatic lighting conditions and color variations.”
