Description

From the photographer: “I came to Alaska to see the Aurora from Newcastle upon Tyne, England, UK and it did not fail to disappoint. Initially, I didn’t know what I was looking for, but once you get your eye in, it is obvious. I had seen 4 auroral displays over the week but this night’s activity was the strongest. The lights danced and shimmered across the sky like a laser show. At one point the aurora formed what looked like a dragon’s head, then it melted away.” You can view the time-lapse video of this scene here.
