The Milky Way poses in the background of APEX (the Atacama Pathfinder Experiment) radio telescope located at 5,100 meters above sea level in the Atacama desert near the site of ALMA observatory, in northern Chile. The 12-meter antenna is operated by the European Southern Observatory (ESO). Note star clusters in Scorpius and Sagittarius captured in this view, including M6 and M7 at the scorpion’s tail. See this view in motion.
