Description

In this clear August evening the moon shines over Sagalassos, an ancient Pisidian city in southern Turkey about 100km north of Antalya. Despite the illuminating moon the bright summer Milky Way is still visible over the southern horizon. Sagalassos is located on the slopes of Toros Mountains. The city begins at the elevation of 1400 m and rises up to 1700 m, at the ancient Roman theater. This image shows the view from the highest seats.
