A Complete Night of Mount Kilimanjaro ᐉ
Description
Time-lapse video: sky in motion above Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa during a complete night of July. In the early evening the Moon and aligned planets Venus, Mars, and Saturn set above the Kilimanjaro in the glow of zodiacal light. The red and green airglow are active through the night along the horizon. After the midnight the Milky Way’s bright central bulge stands above the mountain when a spectacular fireball and then another bright meteor appear above the peak. Note the the climbing lights on the mountain from groups of mountaineers trying to reach the peak by the morning. Kilimanjaro is an inactive volcano and the highest mountain in Africa located near the northern border of Tanzania with Kenya. The summit of Kibo (5893 m) is visible in this image.
