Around the Pole

In span of two hours the rotation of our planet caused stars to trail in the sky, as photographed above remains of a historic tower in Alborz Mountains of Iran. The view looks toward the north, where the north celestial pole is marked at right as the center of all the circular stratrails. The closest prominent trail to the pole is made by the Pole Star or Polaris. There is a possible connection between such towers and old time astronomers in Iran. Some of these towers are possibly used as accurate calendar monuments.
