Triple Conjunction Over Syria

A rare celestial gathering between the Moon, Venus and Jupiter, as seen above Hama, a city in northern Syria which is known for its giant wooden waterwheels, known locally as ‘Norias’. Hama is located the banks of the Orontes river in central Syria north of Damascus. It is the location of the historical city Hamath. There are 17 waterwheels in the city, dating back to the Byzantine times. The giant norias were up to 20 m in diameter.
