The Night of Settlers
Description
Startrails above Fort McKavett state park in Menard County, Texas. The site was a frontier fort established in 1852 to protect settlers. As the photographer (the author of “Secrets of Stargazing”) notes “I made this image in the early morning sky after a group of observers had left the field. I painted the ruins with my red LED flashlight during the exposure. I used a Nikon D70 on tripod set at ISO 400 and the lens at f/4”. © Becky Ramotowski
