Flaring Satellite
Description
Like a fireball during a meteor shower, this bright Iridium Flare is caused by sunlit antenna of a communication satellite. From the photographer: “During a trip to Ladakh, Himalayas, close to the Tibet border, I was imaging in a cloudy night on the banks of Pangong Lake, 4,350 meters high and about 150 km long spreading in two countries.” Click the second photo for a star-filled nightscape view from the lake.
