Panchchuli Meteor

A meteor streaks the northern India night sky above the town of Munsiyari in Uttarakhand. The Panchchuli peaks, a group of five snow-capped Himalayan peaks, appear in the view. The highest peak reaches 6,904 metres (22,651 ft). From the photographer: “Panchchuli has an interesting lore from the Mahabharat, the ancient Indian epic. The five Pandavas left for their heavenly abode after cooking their last meal on the five Panchchuli peaks.”
