Description

From the photographer: “As climate changes warm our ambient temperatures, this glacier on Mt Hood, Oregon, gives an amazing show in its dying breaths. The glacier melts these ceiling windows where water collects and pours into the drainage flowing below, carving a cave system from its belly upward. Summer temperatures expand the skylights until they fracture the width of the glacier bringing a collapse and new terminus to the ice cave system. Portland city lights from 50 miles away cast a warm glow onto the facing snow.”
