Southern Cross
Description
From the photographer: “Located some 370km east of Perth, Western Australia, is the small country town of Southern Cross. Established in 1888, by gold prospectors, many of the streets in Southern Cross are named after constellations and astronomical objects. This image shows the main sign on Great Eastern Highway, which links the gold mining region of Kalgoorlie with Perth. The Southern Cross constellation appears just above the sign.” © John Goldsmith
