Milky Way, Airglow, and Aurora
Description
A starry night of Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming, United States. The bright summer Milky Way appears on the left in constellation Scorpius and Sagittarius. The green bands of very active airglow (natural emission of the Earth upper atmosphere) scatters over the Tetons and the Jackson Lake Dam. On the right end of this panorama, the pink-red glow at the northern horizon is the sign of aurora borealis that appeared that night in further north latitudes. The Grand Tetons are a relatively isolated set of high peaks that are part of the Rocky Mountains.
