All-Sky of Kenya

The Milky Way and the zodiacal light (sunlight reflection from dust in the Solar System plane) appear in the morning sky of Amboseli National park, southern Kenya. In this all-sky view Mount Kilimanjaro appear at the bottom (south) with the Large Magellanic Cloud and the red emission Carina Nebula right above it. Click on the second photoe to see another all-sky view of this place made few hours earlier in the night when the Small Magellanic Cloud is also visible over the south. In this view the sky quality is not as dark and pristine due to pale red cast of airglow activity (natural emission of the Earth upper atmosphere).
