Description

From the photographer: “It was a cloudy and windy night at the summit of Kitt Peak Mountain, near Tucson, Arizona. However, we were fortunate enough to witness a dazzling fireball streak across the sky. The 360-degree panorama photo was captured at the Kitt Peak National Observatory on April 4th. The peculiar structure silhouetted in the foreground is the McMath-Pierce Solar Telescope, which has been the largest solar telescope in the world for many years. You may also notice the arc of the winter Milky Way and the green airglow above the observatory domes. The clouds reflected the city lights from Phoenix and Tucson, which are visible in the middle of the frame.”
