Hunters Moonrise Sequence
Description
A photo composite of multiple exposures. From the photographer: “The aqueduct the bisects the two basins of the Ashokan Reservoir has been something I’ve always wanted to capture in my photography. I find it gives perspective and anchors the viewer in the perspective I choose. When the Hunter’s Moon came around last October, I went out with my parents to witness it rising. I utilized Photopills and The Photographer Ephemeris to find the right location to align it with the bridge. This spot requires a permit to get to the water’s edge, which I possess as a local to the area.
For this shot, I setup my 600mm lens and waited. I captured a timelapse of the moon rising, but found the blended sequence to be more unique. I blended 5 photographs of that sequence together in Photoshop to show the progression of the moon as it went from red to yellow.”
