Description

A photo composite of multiple exposures. From the photographer: “We are located in the countryside surrounding the village of Santa Caterina Villarmosa where a smart farmer, Giovanni D’Anca, decided to experiment with a Lavender cultivation with his Lavanda di Sicilia company. When I arrive at his fields, I immediately understand that I am about to live a unique experience. I am immediately enveloped by the fragrance of freshly harvested wheat, pungent like its golden yellow color, together with the sweet aroma of lavender, elegant like its purple color. Although the sky is veiled, the Moon still manages to illuminate the Sicilian landscape. The shots manage to capture the rotation of the stars around the polar. The landscape is rich in the almost pure but intense colors typical of my land: the yellow of the wheat fields, the green of the olive trees and the brown of the arid and stony earth. And in all this … the colors of lavender: the bright green of the stems and the purple of the ears. Sicily returns to being a small microcosm in the heart of the Mediterranean, a small land that reminds us of Provence, to remind us that we are one people under one sky.”
