Description

A photo composite of multiple exposures. From the photographer: “The comet Neowise C2020 F3 as seen on the evening of 19 July 2020 from the Casera Razzo area in the Italian Carnic Dolomites. That night I reached my chosen spot at 9pm before it got dark. At first the sky was overcast, but I didn’t want to give up and I waited for it to get dark and until the comet appeared through the clouds. To keep her company there was also the Big Dipper. In recent years it has been the largest and most beautiful comet I’ve ever seen, this shot makes us understand how big the comet has become in the days close to perihelion. Thanks to the new moon the sky was completely dark and the comet’s double tail appeared beautiful in all its glory.”
