Planets Above Nemrut

Jupiter and Saturn shine not far apart from each other in constellation Capricornus. This late evening image frames them shining over megaliths of eastern terrace at Nemrut Dagi National Park, a World Heritage Site, while the Milky Way stretches above the tumulus. Mount Nemrut was a part of the ceremonial grounds of Commagene Kingdom. The monument was built in the 1st century BC during the reign of Antiochos I.
