Description

A composite of multiple shots stacked to reduce noise. A moonlit view from the island of Tenerife in the Canary Islands archipelago, in the evening, a few hours before sunset. The light of the almost full Moon reduced the visibility of the comet Leonard, but pleasantly illuminated the neighboring island of La Gomera and the famous Canarian pines in the foreground. Being located under Venus and with the proximity of h1 Sgr and h2 Sgr stars, the 4.5 magnitude comet was easily observable with a pair of binoculars. Move the slider on the image for labels.
